Energy for America

Over half of the crude oil utilized in America is imported from foreign sources. These sometimes unfriendly countries are, at their own discretion, allowed to manipulate the cost and supply of this valuable source of energy. Our energy independence is being held hostage, and our economic

security is threatened by the unstable cost and supply controls imposed by foreign nations.

I believe that America’s dependency on imported foreign oil for our energy needs must be reduced through the adoption of a sound and wide-ranging plan.

Energy independence can be obtained, and the reduced threat to the economic security for America can be obtained by:

* Remove excessive environmental restrictions currently hampering the U.S. drilling industry. Open all coastal waters, California, Florida, and the Gulf of Mexico for oil and natural gas drilling.  Open more public lands, namely the Alaska Natural Wildlife Refuge (ANWAR) to oil, coal, and natural gas

production.

* Develop more efficient automobile gasoline and truck diesel engines.

* Develop dependable solar and electrical powered vehicles.

* Pursue expansion of clean and readily available sources of energy. For production of electricity,

construct new atomic energy plants, and harness the wind through the development of turbine wind

farms.

I have spent thirty years of my life in the oil field service industry, I know that America’s energy industry is up to the task of reaching energy independence for the U.S., while at the same time placing an emphasis on maintaining and protecting the environment. Energy companies must be

given additional opportunities to do the job they do best, and that is to provide America with a continuous supply of economical energy.

Once elected to Congress, I will place a priority on developing a strong and wide-ranging energy plan for America.
